Barium Esophagram Tomorrow

For going on 5 months now, I've been having issues with my throat / esophagus.  Sometimes, it feels irritated, dry, and other times just like something is there.  I don't have to swallow for it to feel this way.  There were a few times that I had a choking cough at night because it felt to dry and like something rough or pointy was irritating it.  It's more on one side than the other.

When it first started (beginning of May), I went to the doctor and he told me he believed it was allergies.  I was instructed to take Zyrtec or Allegra.  I did this for a few months and it didn't clear up the issues.  About 3 months later, I went back to the doctor and was told it could be reflux, so I have given a high dose of a reflux medicine.  I took this and it did nothing at all.  They told me that in a week and a half I definitely should have seen improvement.

Next up, the allergist.  He felt it was a severe sinus infection lingering.  Well, you guessed it.  It wasn't.  I was then sent to an ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat) specialist.  He stuck a scope through my nose and down my throat and saw nothing.  Unfortunately the scope stops at the beginning of the vocal chords / esophagus.  So, I have to have a Barium Esophagram and then possibly a Feast test.

The Barium Esophagram is tomorrow morning.  You can go here to get an idea of what this is exactly.  I'm looking forward to it in the sense of hopefully getting a resolution / diagnosis after all this time.  On the other hand, I'm a bit nervous.

Hoping it's nothing too serious.  We shall see and I will update after I get results.

So, tomorrow morning think of me and maybe send some positive, healthy vibes my way.
